Power Cells are devices used to unlock new hubs and they can be found both in different areas or exchanged through quests. In terms of the items, the most important ones to collect are the Power Cells and the Precursor Orbs. These have a very limited use but are an essential part of some zones. It also incorporates racing elements thanks to certain vehicles. These hubs split into fourteen areas like the ice-themed Snowy Mountains or the poisonous Spider Cave. To progress through Jak and Daxter, the player must find and collect various items in three main hub locations. As the duo advance through the game, they discover that a sinister plan is brewing and, as such, they have to stop it. Players take control of Jak as he fights Lurkers and helps his friend Daxter undo a strange event that transformed him into an animal.
